Hi Jammie,

I had an abnormal pap, and it was due to having a cervical infection. The Dr. treated the infection, did another Pap in three months, and all was fine.

Sometimes, it can be inflammation not related to an infection, and once that goes away, your Pap will return to normal.

I have heard some Drs. say to repeat the Pap in six months, while others say three to four months. Who's right, I guess all of them, but for me....I want it done in three months.

I hope this helps some. I know the Drs. will have a better answer than this, but wanted to help you out in the meantime.

Good luck, and I hope all turns out well for you!
