So it would be very important for someone who seems to have cancer run in their family quite strongly to be sure to get pap smears regularly as well, right? Granted it is caused by a virus, but if 85 percent of the population has this virus, it is also contributable to genetics, and family history and the likelihood of having the ability to fight off cancerous cells? Reason I'm asking is that my sister died a week ago from cervical cancer, and my mother just had an abnormal pap smear, then had a test done, and now has to have a LEEP done. My grandmother died of cervical cancer, and two uncles died of cancer as well (both were under age 40). My sister was 46.
