Bacteria in urine?

When I went in for my dmso treatment at the Urologist last week I had bacteria in my urine so they wanted to see if my urine was clear by taking a catheter specimen, and also she did a vaginal exam to see if there was discharge, which there was. She said that the urine was clear and decided it was a yeast infection and put me on Diflucan ( I already asked a question about that). Well I had some pain in the back around the kidneys before but we didn't think it was infection at the time, but I am still having some of that pain and earlier this week, I had a low grade fever. Is it possible that I have a kidney infection? Also, after I had the treatment I started having a real bad burning pain and until I took Pyridium and then it was ok. Should I be concerned that its a kidney infection and should I mention this to my doctor about still having the pain (although its not to bad right now)? Thanks for the information!!
