You can use sterilization of either partner, progesterone only hormonal contraception, barrier method contraception or the IUD. In addition, it may be OK to use the birth control pill under close scrutiny in certain circumstances. After all, the risks of the pill with HTN are dramatically less than the risks of pregnancy with HTN.
