Endocervical carcinoma in situFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netSat, 29 Jan 2000 19:51:17 -0600 (CST)
I was recently diagnosed after a knife cone as having endocervical carcinoma in situ. My ob/gyn removed 2 cm from my cervix but did not get a clean margin. The path report read "focal carcinoma in situ of endocervix, unclear margin". She suggested a repeat colpo in 6 weeks and biopsy at that point. I'm only 27 y.o. and am very concerned about my fertility. I want to have children if at all possible. What are my options? Repeat cone? How long do I have to consider other options if simple hysterectomy is recommended? Could I have a child within the next year safely before the procedure? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
