CA-125 blood test

My friend had a CA-125 blood test done because of an ovarian cyst and the level turned up high, 46. It was then determined that it was not ovarian cancer because of further testing done at the time. The doctor said the level could be as high as 100 and it still might not be cancer. Is this a reliable test?
