anesthetic and pain relief during Leep?

I have severe dysplasia which might be considered cin 3 I don't know. They referred to it as high grade. I went for the biopsy and may be I'm just a wimp but it was horrible. I've never been very good at relaxing when I'm supposed to "scouch my bumb forward and relax my knees" ugh! even just typing those words send shivers down my spine. So, I went for the biopsy/colposcopy and she removed two areas. Whatever she used seemed to make a "ka-chuk" sound and feel. RIGHT ON MY CEVIX! She referred to this as a "little ouchy". There was no freezing or topical gel/spray of any kind applied. I don't even know how much it hurt or if it was more the mental anguish, like I said maybe I'm just a big wimp. See, I've broken bones and been in painful situations and thought my tolerance to be high but I'm terrified to go back. I will either be getting the Leep or cone biopsy when I return and I am wondering what kind of anesthetic or freezing will be involved. Is it possible to get some kind that makes you not entirely aware of whats going on. I know I will be tense for the procedure which could complicate things and make it more difficult for my doctor. I really want to have kids one day so I'm a little protective of the area but mostly afraid of the pain.
