Before Christmas, Joan Baker asked if we could put up a notice about the SDMS OBGYN Seminar in Houston that is in Feb. You can see the posting at:

http://www.obgyn.net/us/sdms.htm

There are links at the bottom of the page for going to the registeration http://wwweb site. It was also sent to all the subscribers of both the OBGYN-L and the Ultrasound@OBGYN.net lists.

Please let us know how you like it, and what more we can do to help sonography.

While in Austin over the holidays, I met with Roberta and Bruce Speyer, the folks who put the OBGYN.net Web site together. They asked if anyone would be interested in an Ultrasound Chat Room. I have never been a fan of Chat rooms because it seemed to defeat the purpose of Email, that being I could read and respond according to my schedule, and if I wanted to *chat* with someone at a particular time, then I could just phone them. However, they pointed out that there are several ways this could be used which I had not thought of. Here are some of the things they suggested:

1. An area where we could put-up images and discuss them. Seminar anyone? 2. A Chat Room that could be pass-word protected... Executive Committee Meeting anyone... or may be CMEs (this will take some thought to plan)? 3. And then the Noon or after work Chat over images, sort of like 1 above but with out a real agenda. Just bring your interesting case at the appointed time and show and tell or ask for opinions.

It all sounds wonderful to me. They assured me that we can do this NOW. We just have to decide how we want to do it ... and do it? For it to be very successful, I will need some volunteers to help. Organizing this may take a little time. But it sounds like they could put the http://wwweb Chat Page up and everyone one could just come and go as they please, images and all. The ones that would take organization would be Seminars and passwords.

What say you?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
