Dear Dr. Sanchez-Ramos, I'm sure that Dr. Korotkin meant to use the term sonographer (not technologist). We sonographers were more than happy to let this oversight slip due to the fact that Dr. Korotkin was able to support a fellow sonographer. The fact that you as a physician recognized the error in terminology, even though your were not correct with the term technologist, means that we sonographers are getting someplace. I am disappointed that Dr. Korotkin was the only physician willing to come out in support of the sonographer. I guess colleagues come before patients. Must have something to do with that hippocratic oath. Again I would like to compliment Dr. Korotkin on his support. In such an obvious situation too bad there are not more like him. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
