Re: OB Reporting SoftwareFrom: Terry J. DuBose (tjdubose@juno.com)Tue Dec 30 10:48:46 1997
Wayne, thanks for suggesting BASIC BABY. BBII is also a very basic program for analyzing normal (read BASIC ;-) fetal growth. It is a DOS program that I have never taken time to update to Windows. It is very fast and has good archival/retrieval features; however, in today's fast computers people tend to want *pretty* more than *fast*. For this reason I have not advertised BBII since 1993. I still get inquiries from my http://wwweb page, and actually sell a copy once in a while. But, I don't really push it anymore because there are many features that I would like to add when (if) I ever get ported to Windows. Some of the unique features that I have always been proud of in BBII are: 3D fetal head analysis Embryonic Heart Rate for age analysis Age Range Analysis (ARA) & and the ARA symbolic time-series histogram for assessing fetal age, growth and proportions (this is still be best way to look at fetal growth and proportionality, IMHO). I also believe this was the first use of the range of ages of multiple fetal parameters. It was based on Hadlock's average age, but he was much later in looking at the ranges of the ages. This is a fairly simple concept that takes quite a lot of verbiage to explain. I spent a chapter in FETAL SONOGRAPHY discussing the ARA and fetal size/age analysis, but I am looking forward to revising the discussion. I think after much thought I can make it a bit easier to understand now.
Again thanks for the mention. Hope you have a good year.
Peace through communications,
Terry J. DuBose, M.S., RDMS

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
