cstewart@ruraltel.net (Karen D. Stewart): dopplerFrom: Terry J. DuBose (tjdubose@juno.com)Mon Dec 29 11:54:53 1997
--------- Begin forwarded message ---------- From: cstewart@ruraltel.net (Karen D. Stewart) Frog I would agree to your practice of m-mode only on fetal hearts in such early fetal developement, (embryology stages). However several people would disagree with this mind set. Their argument of doing fetal echocardiogrphy as their reason for using doppler as their subjective use. True, doppler is use on fetal hearts for echocardiography, but I don't believe anyone is doing echos on 5 to 8 wk fetuses either. I personnally would not use doppler on a early fetal heart, m-mode only with a high res or magnification should be more than adequate. I believe most ultrasound machines even if you close in your sample volume size provides too high of an intense pulsewave and could cause damage to the developement of the tissue i.e. prolapsed heart valves. Good luck Clay --------- End forwarded message ----------

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
