Tom" Sorry you don't know the full story. There is a small council that reviews EVERY application. Only about 8 people at present. Off the top of my head it is: Beryl Benacerraf, Michael Hill, and Mike Clair from Radiology, Isabelle Wilkins and myself from ObGyn, Jeanne Cullinan who os boarded in both ObGyn and Rads, and John Forsythe, a sonographer. Peter Arger chairs the council right now. There is a larger commission, that determines policies etc, and that has 40 members, with at least a half a dozen sonographers, like Wayne Persutte, on it. Given that the ideal committee is 1 person to get anything done, and that the commission is charged with accrediting medical practices, I think the representation of sonographers is fair. Hope that clears things up. Josh Copel Joshua.Copel@Yale.edu

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
