I am a physician in a small town about 30 miles from Terry and Little Rock. I spent a few days with Dr. Deter at Baylor in 1973 and have been studying and doing ultrasounds every since. I have purchased 4 machines, had input on the one purchased for our Ob unit at the hospital and will soon purchase another. I don't need to put anyone down. I know that at 3am when there is a lady in the ER with abdominal pain and I'm wondering about an ectopic or questioning what the position of the second twin is, I feel a lot of releif doing my own ultrasounds. It is not unusual to have my patient cured quicker than I could get someone else to do an ultrasound for me. I would like to learn from this discussion. I don't have much time so I guess I am more a lurker than active participant. I think there are more like me. If we are going to talk about docs or techs or midwives let's be specific and name names. Skip the generalities. I think all who are here are trying to do a good job. AS always succinct questions and replies are appreciated.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
