ectopic linkFrom: buddy@redrose.netThu Dec 18 19:03:22 1997
Diana and linkers... With an HCG of 62,000 not only should an embryo be visualized but heart motion should also be observed. Sac greater than 15 mm should show embryo. Correct me if in error. BHCG levels of 1,000 IU should see a sac. BHCG levels of 10,000 IU should see heart motion and embryonic pole. (Now that 'pole' word...worked with a wonderful radiologist who hated that term...said it could be taken as an ethnic slur. She also felt polyhydraminos was redundant.) Back to the ectopic link. Based on the clinical findings of a BHCG level so high as well as the ultrasound...highly suspicious for ectopic. My thoughts. Janet Tomko RDMS

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
