ectopicFrom: ellison r marshall (emdee2@juno.com)Thu Dec 18 08:27:16 1997
Diana, I agree with your assessment. Sounds like it was decidual cast in the uterus with a probable hemorrhagic cyst. With the HCG and son appearance there is most probably an ectopic. If the attending wanted to hedge a little, a D & C could quickly be done with frozen sections to verify a decidual cast or chorionic villi and then perform a laparoscope. My money is on the ectopic. Ellison Marshall, BSRT, RDMS P.S. Sono DOES see ectopics all the time!!

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
