Re: endocx polyp prolapseFrom: DuBose, Terry (DuboseTerryJ@exchange.uams.edu)Fri Dec 12 10:40:50 1997
Dr. Worrall, your image is up at URL http://www.obgyn.net/us/us_images2.htm Folks of the Lists, this image is described below. It is an unusual image in that often we will not get sonograms of prolapsed polyps like this. Since they can be seen using a speculum, there is usually no sonogram recorded. However, because Dr. Worrall did the sonohysterogram to check for other polyps, he serendipitously got us a nice sonograph of it. Thanks, Joseph Worrall, M.D., RDMS PS. This image came from Alaska! Soon we'll have images from all over the planet, no doubt. Thanks everyone for your support. Peace, Terry J. DuBose, M.S., RDMS UAMS, Little Rock, AR, USA -----Original Message----- From: Joseph Allen Worrall Jr. [SMTP:jworrall@alaska.net] I am going to attach a ~7K .gif image of an endometrial or endocx polyp prolapsing from the external cervical os. I had done TVS on this patient on 11/20/97 and suspected an endometrial polyp. She was going on vacation and we did not do the sonohysterogram until today. When I inserted the speculum, there was the polyp hanging out of the cx. I did the sonohysterogram anyway, (no other polyps) and when I was finished and withdrawing the transducer, I found the polyp nicely outlined by fluid that had leaked into the vagina. I captured this from SVHS video (I routinely document all my exams by SVHS video) and a Snappy device. I do not know if Soundadvice accepts images, but this might be of interest to your students. Keep up your steady, moderating wisdom on the listserv. Some of the rhetoric is pretty inflammatory. Joseph A Worrall MD RDMS << File: cxpolyp.gif >>
