Hi All, I am developing an ultrasound device for medical application. I am using pulse echo transducer for sending pulses and receiving echoes. I am collecting 2000 reflected sample, storing and processing it an a processor. i amusing Analog Devices Blackfin processor for my application. now I need to calculate the ratio of transmitted to the receive power.

I have the following querries:

1.How can I determine the layer information from the samples that I obtained. that is, the reflective layers based on the acoustic impedance. Or in other words how can I know the numbe of reflections based on the samples

2.How to calculate th acoustic impedance for the samples so obtained??

3.Is there any other method to calculate the ratio of transmitted to the received power??

4.how to generate the image from the samples so obtained??

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
