-----Original Message----- From: Vikas Mehta [mailto:vikas@gnfc.in] Sent: Thursday, June 19, 2008 12:17 PM To: ultrasound@obgyn.net Cc: nilamohile@hotmail.com Subject: Cord Around Neck Dear Sir/Madam, I have lost my new born male baby due to negligence of doctors. They are saying that the death occured due to cord around the neck. They didn't perform any USG of the patient saying patient is alright and there is no need of Ultrasound. In this context I want to ask the following questions: 1. Should USG be done during eighth or nineth month of delivery period to know the exact position of Baby? Is there any ill or bad effect of USG on mother and fetal. 2. When there is cord around neck, can a good USG detect the same? 3. Can it is detected from outside by mere physical checkup by doctor that there is cord around the neck of the fetal? 4. When there is cord around the neck of the fetal and it is detected in time whether by doing cesarian section the life of baby can be saved? Please give me answers of the above questions on the same e-mail address. I will be highly obliged by the favour. Thanks & Regards,

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
