Mr. Thomas,

You need to consider what do you want to do that will make you happy, you will be able to feed your family and put a roof over their heads in either career. Your family will not be happy, however, if you take a job for money and are unhappy with the actual job itself. You should do what you think will make you the happiest day to day, when you are at work. If you're looking to be very wealthy, sonography is not likely to provide this for you. It is possible, but not likely.

There is a great future for DMS. There is a reasonable career ladder in DMS. The career ladder is directly related to advanced education. It will not land in your lap. The door is wide open for DMS, but you have to ask yourself if you are going to like, or LOVE what lies on the other side of the door, no matter which door.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
