This pt. was 32 wks MA LEC, 1st sono, 35 CGA sonographically, and Latino. No signs of hydrops anywhere, cardiac flow and dopplers WNL--absolutely nothing else. What I was seeing was spine, skin layer, 1 cm hypoechoic layer, then hair strands superficially. Of note is that this hypoechoic layer was more apparent axially than sagitally--couldn't ignore it however. Referral to perinatologist suggested a "ton" of hair. One article I have located on the web states "hair artifact", but not much in the way of detailed info. Thought I had seen it all... Lisa Comer RDMS,RDCS

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
