Re: May'98 Case of the MonthFrom: DuBose, Terry (DuboseTerryJ@uams.edu)Wed Apr 26 10:16:13 2006
Unfortunately, I just noticed there was a misalignment of two columns in the previous posting... here is another copy of those weeks. Fetal Age and Age Range Analysis* -- BASIC BABY © LMP Week BPD mm 3D-BPD mm OFD mm VCD mm CV mm3 THC* mm Hadlock HC ** mm CHC mm CERB mm BIOD mm FSL mm Fem mm Hum mm ADA mm AC mm LMP WEEK ARA Time-line 23 56 56 71 42 93 199 210 154 24 38 37 40 38 58 181 23 22 53 53 67 40 78 188 199 146 22 36 34 37 36 54 170 22 21 49 50 62 38 65 175 188 137 21 34 32 35 34 51 160 21 Instructions: To perform age range analysis (ARA) for each examination: Measure parameters and mark the parameter's sizes in the table to determine each parameter's age, and average all parameter ages; interpolate for more accuracy. Us a straight edge to place symbols in the time-line. Normal fetuses will form a cluster about the LMP age estimated from 1st sonographic examination. Use single table to track growth series for each fetus. IUGR will trail LMP age. Range should be < ± 10% (20%) of AA. ARA: To determine the relative location of any parameter in the time-line distribution, use the following formula: (Parameter age - AA)/(AA x 0.05) = Location in standard deviations (SD) * Transverse HC mid-skull bones' edges' ellipse. Table values from single population (n=9,000+), excepting Hadlock, et al outer HC. DuBose: FETAL SONOGRAPHY, Chapter 7 Size/Age Analysis; W. B. Saunders Co. 1996. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
