The 1/05/2005 edition of the JAMA ( not available online as yet) covers the issue of "Entertainment OB Sonography. One of the key points is that amusement and diagnosis may not be mutually exclusive. Berkeley Geddes, an originator of online job search site FlipDog.com, started Geddes Keepsake Inc as a way to incoporate "keepsake" services into Diagnostic Labs. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
