Techal lutein cyst is very common during early pregnancy,specially after induction of ovulation. The risk of twisting exist whenever the size is more than 5 cm.I recently had a case at 8wks with a 8 cm lutein cyst discovered at a routine early ultrasound exam.One week after her first sono she start having severe abdominal pain,rebound at the palpation necessitating an emergency laparotomy.The left adnexa was totally necrosed and we had to perform an adnexectomy. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
