Dear Dr.Moroder

Thanks for your message. I saw several times the 3 videoclips using WMP.I can´t see the Ostium Primum ASD neither the perimembranous VSD of a complete AV canal. I will try with QUICKTIME frame by frame. Can you post the 20 weeks follow-up clip???

Best regards Mario Libardi

Dear Dr. Libardi Thank you for your comment though succint. I agree with you that the left outflow tract (LVOT) on the clip looks normal but the point is the septal defect of the inlet on the 14 and 16 wks videoclips here http://www.obgyn.net/us/us.asp?page=/us/present/1004/moroder_canal_wmp. I have seen the patient now again at 20 weeks and I could definetly confirm the presence of a complete AV canal with moderatly unbalanced ventricles (the apex of the heart still belongs to the left ventricle). Both outflow tracts left and right were still normal in alignement and size. In the meantime the patient has been in one of the most important Italian centers for fetal cardiology and the diagnosis of a slightly unbalanced canal was confirmed and she was accordingly councelled from the cardiologic surgeon meaning that probably nobody knows how the heart will develop at the end of the prengnancy.

In regard to the videoclip of the fetal heart at 12 weeks it might seem inconclusive if you don't look at it with a frame to frame modality. In the latter case you can visualize the normal chambers, the septa, and the outflow tracts. Much more than with a four chamber view at 20 weeks. I don't think this can be simply defined as inconclusive.

I apologize for writing the wrong videoclip viewer. If you want to see the clip frame by frame it is QUICKTIME which allows it with the left and right arrowkeys Best regards Wolfgang Moroder At Mon, 1 Nov 2004, Mario Libardi wrote: >
