Re: persistent trophoblastic tumorFrom: Rich Dempsey RDMS/RVT (ridem@msn.com)Tue Oct 7 17:39:13 2003
FOLLOW-UP: Just re-scanned the patient last night.(a 7 day follow-up.) No change in the complex focal (14mm)endometrial "thickness". The patient has stopped bleeding. She has not had a "normal period" since her TAB. Of interest is the area of intense color flow in no longer confined to a tiny(2mm) focus in the endometrium, but now asymmetrically involves a section of the adjacent myometrium. The RI= 0.4. The original Radiology report raised the question of healing uterine injury post TAB (pt did have a D&C w/o pathology work-up). The differential of RPOC was mentioned in the first report, but considered unlikely given the vascularity. Last night's study was read as "RPOC should be considered, with clinical follow-up recommended." Physician has not ordered a bHCG. I have seen the patient 2x at a clinical off-site, where there is no Radiologist present. I did recommend that any further sonograms be done at the hospital when a physician is available.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
