I had surgery approx. 3 years ago to remove 9 non-cancerous tumors off of my ovaries. Before the doctors discovered the tumors, they did a series of tests to determine the cause for my discomfort. One of these tests was an internal sonogram. I wanted to know if that test would have broken my hymen. I have never been sexually active but if the test broke my hymen does that mean I'm not a virgin anymore? Thank you for your prompt response.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
