Tricia, are you looking for just anyone who calls themselves an "Ultrasound Tech" or are you looking for a Registered Diagnostic Sonographer? There is a difference. If you don't understand see: http://www.sdms.org/membership/default.asp and www.ARDMS.org . It is my policy as director of an accredited (http://www.CAAHEP.org) Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program (and the policy of most) that recruitment brochures or literature requesting "techs" do not get beyond my trash can. I educate Diagnostic Sonographers and expect them to be respected as such for the skills they have acquired. Also see: http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos273.htm and http://www.sdms.org/members/resources/dmsjobdescription.asp

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
