There is no data to suggest that ultrasound can predict the risk of uterine rupture with attempted VBAC with any accuracy or clinical usefulness. The risk of VBAC (particularly after 2 c-sections) is two fold: to the baby (1:200 at a minimum risk of uterine rupture with high fetal mortality) and to the mother (higher risk of major complications with attempted VBAC), both of these facts are based on large studies published in the past few years in the New England Journal of Medicine, that is, not anecdotal. Let me tell you -- uterine rupture is one complication you really want to avoid. I would typically encourage my patients to undergo another c-section.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
