Disappearing twin?From: JPeck39@aol.comFri Feb 15 11:45:58 2002
I read that about 70% of all pregnancies start out as twins, however only about 1% of delieveries are live births. Also, I read that with each ovulation, the egg divides in two and can be fertilized by two separate sperms, thus having the babies identical on the mother's side and fraternal on the father's side or in other words, half identical. Can either of these theories be documented? Thank you. Joy Peck

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
