Recurrence of P.R.O.M?From: Melissa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 26 Sep 1998 18:20:35 -0500 (CDT)
I am 14 weeks pregnant with my third child and very nervous about having another premature baby. My first child was born only about nine days early; however, my second child was born 8 weeks early due to premature rupture of membranes for which no reason was given to me by my doctor; only speculation of a possible infection of the membranes. I was not dialated upon examination only 100% effaced. My question is can any estimates be given as to the likelihood of this occuring again and is there anything I can do to avoid this or help with a more positive outcome? Are there any tests that I should request from my doctor? Thank you for any advice.
