BIG problem....From: Lyndi (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 24 Sep 1998 13:34:32 -0500 (CDT)
Hello, I have a big problem....I was told a year ago that my chances of getting pregnant were somewhere around the same for winning the lottery. (Long story, but I had a major operation and my age which is 38). Now guess what! I find out that I have been missing periods, not due to early menopause but pregnancy!!! I am 15 weeks along. Here's the problem, I have a nerve disorder that causes severe pain, and have been taking darvocet and percocet for about 4-5 months now......What effect do these drugs have on the baby during the first trimester of use??? I can't believe this! I am so worried......please answer if you can! My OB says that the greatest risk is addiction if the drugs are continued, but I am wondering if there is anything else? Thank-you so much in advance!
