Premature birth linked to endo or fibroids? From: Gloria (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 18 Sep 1998 11:58:05 -0500 (CDT)
I'm looking for info from anyone who has heard of any connection with fibroids and Endo connected with premature births. I have had one miscarriage, and one pregnancy where I delivered my beautiful son at 27 weeks gestation. I have had no problems conceiving, just carrying my pregnancies to term. The doctor I saw prior to getting pregnant either time diagnosed me with Endo and told me that the fibroids I had would cause no problems or pain in pregnancy. To the contrary I was in agony through most of my pregnancy as the fibroids grew (the fibroids were so large at one time my husband and I thought it was the baby we felt)and bled. I was told that no one could give me a reason for giving birth prematurely. I strongly feel that the fibroids or Endo had some role in this and I would like to have another child but not at the risk of giving birth prematurely. If you have any information I would appreciate it. Can the fibroids be removed so I can conceive again and carry to term? Should I have laser surgery to zap Endo? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks, Gloria
