Re: Changed Due Date after 22 week U/S, really confused and scared

A couple of things:

I would get a second opinion if I were you... what kind of doctor doesn't believe her patient when she says "HELLO I ONLY HAD SEX ON THIS DATE, I KNOW WHEN I CONCEIVED" ? Your doctor is not paying enough attention to you and relying way way way too much on technology -- especially since that technology is often inaccurate. Only a bad doctor would ignore your insistence that you KNOW when you conceived.

Ultrasound is WAY more accurate in the very early stages of pregnancy so if I were you< I would go with the original due date based on 10-week ultrasound.

Finally, as to whether or not you should be worried, I really don't know but I doubt it. I think you are fine. Ultrasound is inaccurate ; some people have small babies; some babies measure small the whole way through. You're not measuring that far off. Consider that you could have conceived up to 5 days AFTER your last sexual encounter (that's how long sperm can live), too. So that would really only put you a week or so off. That's nothing.

But I would go check in with another doctor and tell him/her this story ...

Good luck! I bet you are just fine. Your doctor sounds like a jerk though to me (sorry).
