I assume you are talking about a 2 "vessel" cord. More correctly known as "Single Umbilical Artery" or "SUA". I don't know what you mean by "possible". Either it has 2 or it has 3 vessels. 3 is normal. About 10% of babies with a "SUA" wioll have some other abnormality.
Is it possible that the
>missing artery in the cord is causing the bright spot in the heart? Is Bright spot in heart?? Is this "Echogenic Intracardiac Foci"? If so that is a so called soft marker for "Down" Syndrome. About 5% of all babies with this will have Down syndrome. I would refer any patient of mine with these findings to a Maternal-Fetal Medicne physician within the week for counselling and for an Extensive Ultrasound.
