Dark red bleeding with a lot of tissue.

I had light brown spotting seen only on TP last night and this morning woke up and went to the bathroom to find (what I thought) was a period beginning.

Well, all day I have noticed a lot of what I would call tiny pieces of tissue and very dark red and brown blood. I am cramping, however, I know this is NOT a period. #1. I am not due to start for another 4 days and I have been regular since beginning menstration & #2. I have not bled nearly as much as I normally do on my first day of mensus. #3. My periods are NEVER like this.

Am I miscarrying? Is it a subchorionic hemorrhage? I am making an appt with my Dr. first think Monday morning, but it is driving me nuts, so any suggestions would be forever appreciated!!
