14 weeks pregnant with retroverted uterusFrom: cp (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 1 Apr 2003 18:20:56 -0600 (CST)
I am 14 weeks pregnant with a retroverted uterus. This is my second pregnancy, just one year ago, I delivered a healthy 9lb 14.5oz baby, vaginally. This past week, I was treated in the ER twice. Both times I had to be catheterized as I was unable to urinate. On the first visit, 500cc of urine was removed, 900cc on the second. My OB is not concerned with this and says it is something I must manage on my own by limiting fluids and emptying my bladder frequently. I did not have this problem the first time and am very concerned that the uterus may be incarcerated putting me and the baby at risk. Other than what my OB has advised, is there anything that should be done. Baby's heart beat could not be heard on doppler at 12 weeks (my last OB visit) and I will not see the doctor again until 16 weeks. I've read about exercises etc, but my OB has not recommended anything. Any advise you could give my would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
