Concerned about herbal medication

Hi. I am 34 weeks pregnant and have the beginnins of a terrible cold. I have been taking Esa-Cold lozenges which are working really well - they contain zinc, echinachea and slippery elm along with vitamins C, B and a few others. I just looked up slippery elm on the internet and read that it should not be taken during pregnancy at any cost as the harm far outweighs any benefits. Is this true? Does anyone have any more information? I searched and searched and could not find any explaination as to what it may harm. As you could imagine I am very concerned. Any responses would be greatly appreciated.
