Ideally, you won't gain 4 pounds already, but don't sweat it -- exercise a bit more (try walking or swimming, too)and make sure you aren't eating more than you think -- until about 20 weeks, you do not need one single calorie more than you did prepregnancy, after that you'll need about 300 extral cals a day
