Vitamin E

I am 17 weeks pregnant and have been suffering from subchorionic bleeding for 5 weeks. I read in two places that taking Vitamin E is beneficial in that it may help the placenta re-attach where it has separated. Has anyone else heard this? Also how much is too much Vitamin E in pregnancy? One book actually said to be careful not to take too much Vitamin E at near the end of pregnacy as it may prevent easy delivery of the placenta at birth. Also do most perscription prenatals contain Vitamin E? I am taking Materna and they do not say what they contain. Thanks for any information.
