New here...any good PCOS doctors in Central Indiana?

Hello everyone!! This is my first post. My family doctor suggested that I could have PCOS at a recent appointment. I have an appointment with my OB/GYN coming up on 10-3. I don't know whether they know anything about PCOS, but they are the only OB/GYN in my county and there are no endocrinologists.

I have done a lot of research online and I am sure that I have PCOS. I have every one of the symptoms associated with it...weight gain, acne, hair loss, facial hair, fatigue, irregular cycles which are getting farther and farther apart and becoming more unusual each month (heavy one month, light another, spotting every day for 2 weeks, then flooding every day for two weeks, etc) But, now that I'm sure I have it, I want to find a doctor that knows at least as much as I do about it, preferrably more. ;) I live in a very rural area in Indiana, but I work in an outer suburb of Indy. So, if necessary I can find an endo there.

Anybody want to tell me what's likely to happen next? I imagine that my OB/GYN will do an ultrasound and or sonogram, especially if they find any irregularities in the annual exam. Do they do blood tests to check hormone levels? Will they do a test to rule out hypothyroidism or other thyroid type disorders? I figure I'll have to do a glucose tolerance test also. Is it likely that the doc will just put me on the pill to regulate my cycle? Or will or should he do more than that? I am sorry to go on and on for ever. Thanks for listening to my list of questions.

Smiles, Aimee
