Dear Donna, Why is the doctor recommending you have a tubal ligation? I don't have a report / paper whatever that says 40% of women who have tubal ligations have hysterectomies. However, I do have a lot of experience, I am a clinical nurse in gynaecology. I guess that 40% of women may have a tubal ligation, then a hysterectomy. However, I would say that almost none of those women have a hysterectomy BECAUSE of the tubal ligation. How old are you, because that makes a difference too? Do you want more children?
