I went up to 2000 mg/day on april 20... i also started mircette at this time. the mircette made me spot like crazy... so i didn't finish the cycle. i went on alesse + spiro for the next cycle... went off the spiro after <2 weeks when i started bleeding a LOT... had already noticed a hairiness reduction by this time. didn't know what caused it, though... met or BCP? just knew it couldn't have been the spiro.. did a thrid cycle of BCPs, with alesse again, after the spiro attempt... had sotting after two weeks. GRRRR.. not as heavy as with the spiro as well, but annoying. quit the BCP. That was last sunday... spent the last week realising the hair reduction is NOT in my head, afraid what if it IS the BCP??? went back on alesse today. as i said, will call my doc tomorrow about switching pills... so, that's what i've been doing, medication wise. exercise wise, i have been running/walking a LOT... like, 36-42 miles a week... except for this past week because i was a dumbass and thought last monday it would be a good idea to get an all over tan before going to california... ha!!! i went all out. i laid out in bikinki bottoms with homemade pasties on my boobs... front side to album one of Pink Floyd's "The Wall.." back side to album two... burned my stomach pretty bad. since it's hurt to move at all ever since, i've been pretty lazy this past week... i think i might try to run tonight but i am not sure. it might yet be too soon.. anyway since going on the met, my weight has dropped from 160 on my scale to 130-135 on my scale. (I think my scale may be 5 pounds off... but i love those numbers so i'm gonna believe them..) i have read that weight loss => increase of sex hormone binding globulin => decrease of free testosterone... so i suspect the weight loss may have SOMETHING to do with the hair decrease. i have not lost any more weight since april 20 (poo..) and i know the weight would never have come off at ALL had i not been on met. i have attempted low carbing/sugar bustering.. but i'm not too good at it. i will be really good for a few days... then fall off the wagon hard. i've decided i would rather exercise to justify my carb intake than keep my carb intake low/good... that's why being imobile this past week has been rotten. miraculously, my weight hasn't gone up at all... (I seem to be able to eat whatever i want without gaining weight... i just have a hellova time losing it, no matter what i do...) i had a boyfriend once who was really hairy, and i remember him saying once he wanted to start lifting weights because then he would be less hairy... he said muscley skin doesn't grow hair like fatty skin does and that's why body builders are always so hairless... now, i think they just wax!!!!!! but there might be some kernal of truth to that because even if i would wax before, my skin looked awful... never smooth and nice. so i do suspect building muscle through running has helped... but, i didn't start running till AFTER the weight loss so i don't know. SOMETHING has helped... i'm just gonna be glad of that. today, i had an itch on my thigh and i reached to scratch it... and usually i would brace myself to feel revulsion at scratching stubble.. my thigh was smooth!!!! ahhh, how nice... to no longer cringe at the though of touching my own body!!!!!!!
>I only started on Flutamide (supposedly a "potent" anti-androgen) about i hope it is working for you!!!
>I do hate that hair on your thighs that NEVER seems to go away. I even try the nair roll on sugaring wax. buy the tube stuff to refill, and get the bigger hair rip off sheets.. but do buy one roll on for the convenience. from what i can tell, it's the same principal as nads... and a lot cheaper. (6-7 bucks vs. 20-30 or so??????) btw.. does anyone else find it funny that a hair removal product is called Nads? I means.. it's our (go)Nads that are making us hairy in the first place... the name Nads just cracks me up.
>I haven't I believe bed, bath, & beyond sells the silk epil... do you have thiose where you live?
>I just wanted to say how happy I am for you that the Nair stuff did wonders for my stomach even before medication... most of my clothes have been from walmart, the juniors department has tons of great stuff and pretty cheap, too. i've also been scouring marshall's... so i'm being thrifty with my extravagance, heh...
Well, sorry for
>getting off track, but CONGRATS!! on how you feel!!! You deserve all of thanks!!!!! - jodi
