Re: All test results came back normal :(From: Hillary (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 18 May 2001 15:11:26 -0500 (CDT)
Selena, I'm waiting for my results to be faxed to me right now. I'm anxious to see what they are. I did have a pelvic sonogram on Tuesday (both internal and external), and of course, everything was normal (arggh!). I don't know how informed my doctor is about PCOS, but she did get some award for being one of the 'top doctors' in the Washington, DC area a couple of years ago. She certainly knew what I was talking about when I said I have most of the symptoms of PCOS, and she was immediately willing to do all sorts of bloodwork for me. I asked the nurse about the IGTT (I assume that's the same as the insulin/glucose tolerance test, right?), and she said the doctor said my insulin-glucose ratio from Monday's fasting test (just that one blood draw first thing in the morning) was fine. I didn't even get a chance to tell the doctor that I have AN; I guess I figured she would have asked about my symptoms if it mattered. I'm definitely done with the bcps for a while. I just wish I knew how long it will take my body to get back to normal after 5-6 weeks of artificial hormones. Thanks for your advice, Hillary
