As far as I am aware, this is a suggestion. There is a research study going on about d-chiro-inositol. Some of us have been involved with this study. We were told to take the "drug" (or placebo) about 1 hour before breakfast. There was some concern that inositol is not used properly in our bodies. Up as recently as last year, there were no known inositol deficiencies. With new research, it seems that we may be the exception. The theory is that we do not have enough inositol and it aids our bodies in the uptake of insulin. If we take it with other things, it may interfere with the function of the inositol so we take it alone. This is brief but I hope it helps,
