Re: I'm Pregnant-Need Low-Carb advice!From: Becca (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 27 May 2001 00:30:04 -0500 (CDT)
The diet I'm on now is designed specifically for women who have gestational diabetes or ttc but at-risk for gestational diabetes. I posted it about 1 months ago. You should be able to find it archived. Try a search. It's about 150 g carb a day, low fat, and high calcium, protein and fiber. Supposedly it is very effective. Also, ask your doctor about nutritional classes for pregnant women with diabetes mellitus or gestational diabetes in your area. Most of what they'd have to say would apply to you. You definitely want to be on top of this, because having high blood-sugar during pregnancy is dangerous for baby and mom.
