In 1967, we had a 675 # P0 G1. Without US, we weren't' even sure she was pregnant until she went into labor. Then she labored for 48 hours. She was on Pit with booming contractions and 8 Cm. dilated for 6 hours. Then we went to the OR. We used two beds tied together in the ICU afterwards. She survived but we lost 2 Interns. Just kidding about the Interns. We sutured an IUD into her uterine cavity. It seemed to work, she didn't get pregnant for the next 2 years at least. We had to take her to the Laundry to weigh her on the scale there. Dan

I've always been amazed by the ability of some very large patients to get pregnant. My heaviest parturient weighed 519 pounds.

Anyone have a Larger experience?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
