Cervical ectopic pregnancyFrom: Alex Hubczenko (hubcap@iweb.net.au)Fri Feb 19 15:04:25 1999
Greetings from Adelaide in South Australia. I am a O & G Registrar. Does anyone have any experience in what we may expect after injecting a cervical pregnancy with methotrexate? We have been following this woman and she has dropping levels of beta-hcg and progesterone. Will this pregnancy just shrink away or will it abort spontaneously or will we need to do a D & C (if so then when will be the most appropriate time)? Unfortunately the local experience shows a poor outcome with cervical pregnancies. Most have resulted with a hysterectomy. I would be keen to hear from others about their experiences. Thanks

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
