Re: chronic endometritisFrom: Braun, R. Daniel (rbraun@iupui.edu)Fri Feb 19 11:04:10 1999
Have you checked out the slides with the Pathologist? They will frequently call Chronic endometritis based on seeing 1 or 2 Plasma cells. If that is the case, they usually need no treatment for the chronic endometritis. Dan R. Daniel Braun, MD FACOG Clinical Professor Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Indiana U. Have a patient with chronic endometritis found during hysteroscopy/D&C/laparoscopic tubalplasty. She recently competed course of doxycycline. Therefore, the doxy didn't work. No surprise to me since I find it usually doesn't. All cultures negative before Doxycycline. I have been treating with three antibiotics for 2 weeks (Doxycycline, Flagyl, Augmentin) post D&C and having all patients clear the endometritis but this is a complicated, irritating (gastritis and diarrhea), and difficult to remember combination. There has to be a better way. Anyone have a favorite gorillacillin for this particular problem? Mark Jutras, MD Orlando, FL
