Dear Dr Perloe: I remember that you post to the list your guidelines to prescribe rezulin or metformin in cases of PCOD (overweigth, androgenism, menstrual disorders infertility, etc) I wanto to ask you: - when do you consider high fastin insulin level? - Is there a fasting glucose/insulin ratio and whats the normal value? - is there another way to made a diagnosis of insuline resistence?

Thank you in advance for your answers. Antonio Valdez Torres MD FACOG Hospital Guernika Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, MEXICO

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
