The mother is probably a better judge of what her child can tolerate than any of us could be. I have had kids as young as 7 in the room, who were oblivious to everything until the baby arrived and then were totally captivated by the tiny baby and very interested in it. The rule in our hospital is that there must be another adult in the room responsible for the child, other than the father or whoever is supporting the mother. Good luck. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
